Waltz of the Broken Moon

“I was dancing with your shadow”
Behind the song

A ballroom keeps turning after love has already become a ghost.

Waltz of the Broken Moon places loss inside a ballroom where mirrors, thunder, candles and shadows keep moving long after certainty has disappeared. The dance becomes both memory and trap: every turn makes the absent person briefly present again.

Piano waltz, strings, accordion colour, rock guitars and theatrical female voice give the track the feeling of a dark storybook opening into full gothic drama. The song helped establish the narrative waltz language that now belongs naturally to The Velvet Theatre.

Lyrics

Waltz of the Broken Moon

One, two, three, The night begins to turn, One, two, three, The silver candles burn.
In a ballroom under thunder, Where the mirrors lost their names, I was dancing with your shadow, Through a chandelier of flames.
Every step became a secret, Every breath a violin, And the floor beneath our sorrow Started slowly caving in.
Round and round, We fall, we rise, With broken stars Behind our eyes.
Round and round, The heavens sway, But I won’t let The dark take me away.
Dance me through the fire, Spin me through the rain, Let the broken moon above us Learn to shine again.
Hold me like a storm now, Lift me from the ground, In the waltz of the broken moon, We are lost, but we are found.
There were roses on the staircase, Black as midnight, red as wine, There were angels in the rafters Keeping rhythm out of time.
You said, “Love is just a doorway,” I said, “Fear is just a key,” Then the walls began to tremble And the night bowed down to me.
Round and round, We break, we burn, With every fall The tides return.
Round and round, The shadows bloom, But I can hear The dawn inside the room.
Dance me through the fire, Spin me through the rain, Let the broken moon above us Learn to shine again.
Hold me like a storm now, Lift me from the ground, In the waltz of the broken moon, We are lost, but we are found.
Bridge / Orchestral Rock Build
The violins are screaming, The piano starts to run, The ghosts are leaving roses At the altar of the sun.
The guitars are breaking open, The drums become the sea, And every locked-up sorrow Turns around and sets me free.
Breakdown / Half-spoken
One step for the silence, Two steps for the pain, Three steps for the part of me That learned to live again.
One step for the ashes, Two steps for the sound, Three steps into morning, I will not stay down.
Dance me through the fire, Spin me through the rain, Let the broken moon above us Learn to shine again.
Hold me like a storm now, Lift me from the ground, In the waltz of the broken moon, We are lost, but we are found.
Dance me through the fire, Spin me through the rain, If the whole sky falls around us, We will rise again.
Hold me like a storm now, Lift me from the ground, In the waltz of the broken moon, We are lost, but we are found.
One, two, three, The dawn begins to bloom, One, two, three, The waltz of the broken moon.
